We are so proud to reveal this colorful atrium hanging art installation commissioned by Holloman Air Force Base, a U.S. military base located six miles southwest of the central business district of Alamogordo and near White Sands missile range.
Below is the atrium hanging art as seen from the entryway to the new medical facility. Mettje and the team at Banner Art Studio worked closely with the interior design team to capture the feeling, colors and energy the client wanted in their atrium. The theme of the atrium hanging art installation is “sunsets in the desert,” with colors and shapes drawn from the natural surroundings at the Base. We began design work last fall with illustrator design concepts, from which we built a design model. The model shipped and we began collaboration with our client and a series of changes, including color concept changes.
The size of space is approximately 15 feet high, 12 feet wide. The art travels along a corridor for about 75 feet.
The atrium hanging art is suspended from airline cables which are bridled to the pieces to create angles. The piece creates a flowing field of color that brings life and vibrancy to this corporate atrium space.
We have constructed 29 pieces for this hanging atrium art installation.
Here is a close-up of the corridor from entry into the hallway.
Finally, see below for a view from the second bridge in the atrium area toward the entry to the atrium.
